Christmas 4 kids 2007

AV- Jam was used in the “Christmas 4 kids” events held at Inala State School on the 1st December 2007. The event organized by a charitable organization “Hands of Hope”, saw up to 1500 children under the age of 12 years old and their families attending the annual event. The event was mainly catered amongst families living in the nearby suburbs of Inala who are in need. “Be all you can be”, the theme for this year’s event, encouraged the children to excel in life through activities like rock climbing, face-painting, games and dancing. It saw the utilization of AV-jam for the first time, where the children had an opportunity to engage in forms of interactive music with one another.  John Ong a research postgraduate student at QUT said that: ‘One of the best things about “Jam2jam” was its interactive space, where children with or without the knowledge of music could come together to create music, without the need of their personal instruments. They are free to move on to other adventurous activities happening around them, and return to moments of relaxation through music making.  AV- Jam  will feature as an installation in 2008 at Sydney powerhouse Betaspace.
