Congratulations to Kathy Hirche MA Research
Kathy Hirche’s research has focused on a critical stage of Network Jamming research. Meaningful Engagement- the potential impact of generative music systems on learning experiences. Her work with designing the first jam2jam Blue interface that utilised a graphic user interface in place of sliders and dials in the jam2jam Grey interface has been innovative and thorough. She was also instrumental in using the digital research methods now prominent amongst jam2jam research tools being a first user of Interact and Transana Software systems to keep music experience in the conversation about music.
Her work investigates the jam2jam Blue period of our research and she both acted as a research assistant and Post Graduate scholarship student in this process. Kathy was also the recipient of the prestigious Gordon Spearitt Prize for student research in musicology presented by the Musicological Society of Australia (Queensland Chapter) in 2010.
We look forward to Kathy’s new work as a PhD student in the coming months.
